Aker Technology Launches Automotive-Grade TX21 TCXO and S16 XO

Automotive-grade crystal oscillators provide reliability for next-generation designs

  • Ultra-compact footprint: 2.0 x 1.6 mm (TX21), 1.6 x 1.2 mm (S16)
  • Reliable performance over a wide temperature range
  • Superior stability, low-power consumption
  • Multiple voltage options:1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V, 1.68 V ~ 3.63 V

Pembroke Pines, Fla. Oct. 2025 – Aker Technology, a global manufacturer of innovative, competitively priced frequency control products, announces the introduction of the automotive-grade versions of the TX21 TCXO (2016) Clipped Sine Wave Series and the S16 XO (1612) certified to the AEC-Q200 standard.

Reliable timing devices are becoming increasingly necessary when technologies like advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving, in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems, and other connected solutions are integrated into today’s vehicles. These automotive-grade crystals provide stable performance, low phase noise, and precise frequency accuracy that are essential for these electronic systems to operate at their best.

Designed based on automotive specifications to ensure products meet the strict AEC-Q200 standards and requirements of the automotive industry, both the TX21 and the S16 come in ultra-miniature packaging: TX21 (2.0 x 1.6 mm), S16 (1.6 x 1.2 mm) for optimized space-constrained, high-density PCB designs.

In order to withstand harsh automotive conditions, the TX21 has an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C, and the S16 a range of -40°C to +125°C. Both the TX21 and the S16 offer multiple voltage options common in automotive applications, including 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V and 1.68~3.63V.

As a trusted oscillator manufacturer and frequency solution provider, Aker Technology delivers precision, reliability, and compact design with the automotive-grade TX21 and S16 Series, helping OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers enable safer, smarter, and more connected vehicles.
