Pembroke Pines, Fla. 2024 – Aker Technology, a global manufacturer of innovative, competitively priced frequency control products, now offers a family of 1.2 Volt TCXOs that not only provide precise frequency control, but also reduce energy consumption significantly. These uniquely designed low-voltage crystal oscillators can adjust their frequency to account for changes in temperature.
Created to meet the dual demands of modern electronic devices for low-power consumption and high-precision, the 1.2V TCXOs can counteract temperature-related frequency variations, making them ideal for use in devices like smart watches, tablets, GPS trackers, mobile medical systems, weather stations, environmental sensors, industrial automation systems, fitness trackers, heart rate monitors and Bluetooth systems where precise timing, signal synchronization and stable frequency output is needed over a wide range of temperatures.
Compared to traditional TCXOs, the 1.2V TCXOs feature a miniaturized design that helps reduce system footprint. They consume much less power, maintain excellent frequency stability when operating at a low temperature voltage, ensure frequency stability while preventing communication interruptions in data transmission and offer stable frequency under various environmental conditions.
Aker has also done performance testing that validates the low power performance of these oscillators, demonstrating power savings up to 20% compared to 1.68V operation, and up to 64% compared to 3.3V operation. With frequencies spanning from 26 to 52 MHz, and low phase jitter of less than 1 ps RMS, these TCXOs feature a compact rugged ceramic package that reduces EMI effects. Available in 3.2×2.5 mm (TX32ED) and 2.5×2.0 mm (TX22ED) packages, the 1.2V TCXO delivers exceptional frequency stability across temperatures ranging from 40°C to 85°C.
Look for an even smaller third package size, measuring 2.0×1.6mm, to be available in early 2025.
