Pembroke Pines, Fla. February 2024 – Aker Technology USA, a global manufacturer of innovative, competitively priced frequency control products, now offers a low profile, surface mount device (SMD) with a frequency range of 24 to 60 MHz and a frequency tolerance up to ±10ppm. The C16 is ideal for use in wireless communication applications.

This 4-pad SMD measures just 1.6 x 1.2 x 0.4 mm and offers an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. Its seam sealed ceramic metal construction helps reduce electro-magnetic interference (EMI) effects between the package and the lid.

“We are pleased to offer a low profile SMD that not only offers tight frequency stability, but also excellent vibration and shock resistance to the wireless communications industry. The C16’s extended frequency range makes it a good fit for wireless products that are designed to support better link speeds,” said Eric Greenberg, Director of North American Sales, Aker Technology.

The C16 delivers tolerances as tight as ±10 ppm. It has a frequency stability range from ±20 ppm to ±100 ppm. Other specifications include aging of +/- 3 ppm maximum per year, a maximum drive level to 100 µW and insulation resistance of 500 MΩ at 100 VDC +/- 15 VDC.

An automotive grade C16 version is also available. AEC-Q200 qualified and certified to IATF-16949, the crystal is ideal for EV on-board chargers (OBC), camera and tire-pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) applications.

Built on Aker’s principles of flexible, high-quality manufacturing, the C16 can cost-effectively be delivered in small quantities with short turnaround and lead times.  The C16 comes in tape and reel packaging.
